In this video assembly file spring is compressed and expaned. I am unable to do it. How to do it?
SolidWorks Tutorial #315 : Shock absorber with movable spring / screw mate - YouTube
If you want an actual animation, take a look at this: Animating a Spring | MySolidWorks Training. It's only about 12 minutes. I didn't watch all of the youtube. But, I have created a spring before and what Paul is saying lines up with what I had to do (the animation I linked to also does this but doesn't confine the spring with a dimension.)
I can't open your model right now as I'm at home. You need to create or edit your spring part within the assembly & create relations from your sketch geometry of the spring to the moveable parts in your shock absorber.
After changes are made in the assembly to the moveable parts, you will need to rebuild the assembly to see the changes take effect in the spring.
Hello Maha,.. @ 59:00 he creates Sketch2 (the height line) in Part9 spring.. a incontext relation coincident to the Sketch7 point of both Part_4 t315... he later adds a reference dim to be linked at 1:04:00.
Thanks for the video. It is well explained in the video.
There is a lot of good information in the my.solidworks.com training videos. I learned a few things myself. just recently. I may not be as experienced as Paul and Kevin; but, I've been using SW for over 5 years now and I'm still learning things from those videos.
If you want to see something else interesting take a look at the cable winding and unwinding video Winding a Cable Off a Reel | MySolidWorks Training .
