All,
Help!!!
Does anyone know what this screen means when I'm trying to pull up
SW for the first time and it crashes every time? Your help or
assistance would be appreciated. See the attached error message I
get and what is the work around to this issue for SW 2009 x64 SP
0.0.
Thanks,
Scott

Are you set up SW at home with VPN network your company that right ? must have license Admin SW of your company and login user look like in your company ..will working and SW no complain... ha ha ha!
I installed using SW 2009 x64 SP 0.0 by using the installation manager, everything was installed. I was even asked to installed Windows Desktop Search 4.0 by the SW reseller and that didn't help either. Go figure SW!
As it was still unresolved, my SW VAR contacted SolidWorks directly and SW repaired the registry during a web meeting.
My guess is you have a problem with your registry that will require intervention by SW.
Question: What causes an "Invalid SolidWorks Standard serial number 29" error when trying to start the 2009 Solidworks application?
Answer: Warning: Please seek advice from the local administration department before making any changes to the registry of the computer.
In testing this was found to be a permissions issue with the registry keys in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SolidWorks area of the registry:
Using Regedit.exe
. Select in turn each of the following keys:
. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SolidWorks
. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wov6432Node\SolidWorks
. Right Mouse button - Permissions
. Select the Advanced button
. Under the owners tab - Select to change the owner to "Administrators" group and replace owner on sub-container and object - See Screenshot S-030113-Owner.jpg
. Apply the changes
. On the Permissions Tab check:
. Allow inheritable permissions form the parent to propagate to this object and child objects...
. Replace permission entries on child objects and entries shown here that apply to child objects
. See S-030133Permissions.jpg
. Apply the changes.
