lately the first time views are inserted in a drawing my holes have notes on them. How do I turn this off?
When creating a hole wizard hole in a part, uncheck the "With thread callout" box
You can also edit the hole, uncheck this box, and save the part again and when you insert the drawing view those annoying hole callouts won't be there.
Do these settings help? This is a Document property of drawing files, so if you alter choices and want them to perpetuate to new files, save these changes into your drawing template file(s) also.
I'm pretty sure the OP was talking about these annoying and useless thread callouts which are automatically created when the "with thread callout" box was checked in the hole wizard properties box. I always deleted them and added the hole callout on the drawing anyway until I found out what caused them to be inserted in the drawing and unchecked the box.
What's really stupid is that those hole callouts don't contain the same information as an inserted hole callout.
If they did, they might be slightly more useful.
Exactly! These callouts are basically useless. It baffles me why the option is even there to begin with.
Now, if it included the same level of detail as an inserted callout at drawing level, i.e. hole count, tap drill size, countersink/counterbore/whatever it would be a different story.
