Hello all,
I have a design table that controls all of the gear information for multiple configurations. For some reason, when I turn on certain configurations (configurations that had no previous problems) the sketches fail. After looking into it, there were values in the design table that were incorrect. I corrected the value in the design table, closed the design table, and regenerated the configuration. To my surprise, the configuration failed again. I then returned to the design table and saw that the value reverted back to the incorrect condition. Can anyone help with an explanation?
Thanks,
Brandon
Some of my linked design tables have done strange things.
I have edited a linked design table in excel, saved it , closed excel.
Then I open up the part, see the linked design table open up with the NEW values, then watch the design table overwritten with the values from the model.
This was done with the block model edits checked. go figure.
one of my workarounds is to
delete the design table
save and close
open table in excel, clear the A1 cell (contains the table name)
check that the A2 cell is named Family
save and close excel table
open SW part
relink excel table to part
keep allow model edits checked in edit control
under options check warn when updating
save (you should see a popup saying link design table is being saved)
this has stabilized some of my tables.
Also, make sure that the values in the design table are ones that you know should work
My thought is that sometimes there is confusion about which item: existing model geometry or design table has the main control of the changes. Usually this means that the designer has not selected the correct menu of options in SW.
