I received this drawing from one of our customers and I need to create a 3D drawing of this for our CMM. I have tried several different ways to try and create this but failed. Any help would be greatly appreciated
To first get a better understanding on how it looks do that. (it's not exact but will help you see what the end result looks like)
The top two projected views are most suitable. Insert the profile sketch picture A into a sketch on the top plane.
Add a sketch and trace the red line in A. Now add a offset plane 44.45 mm from Top. Add a sketch and trace the orange line along sketch picture A ( as seen in Copy A). Add a sheet metal loft and you are done. Now you know what the formed piece needs to look like.
Let's start with View (E). It has most information.
To get the exact contour you need 3 planes. We know the the projection of the contour is a true radius on plane 1.
Start plane P1 on top plane. Sketch the arc and line as per (D). Make another sketch on P1 and sketch the arc and line as per (E).
Now you have the projected contour, but we need to transfer it onto the angled planes P2 & P3. Make a reference sketch on the right plane and add two parallel lines at 48° & 44.45 mm apart. For each line create a plane through the blue and pick line perpendicular to Right plane. Now create a sketch on P2 and project the profile you created (D). Then create a sketch on P3 and project the profile you created in (E). Now got the two profiles, just make a lofted sheet metal and you are done.
I think that's it. I didn't fully check it, but it looked right on first view, the projection lines seem to line up..
