Help Please on extending a pipe to a plane

Question asked by Steve Tschurwald on Jan 28, 2018

Good afternoon.  I am new to Solidworks and am having a problem with an extrusion.

I am trying some new things and utilized a CMM to reverse engineer this tube.  I defined plane 2 and 4 utilizing the CMM machine and need to extend this pipe out to those planes.

First off, I a not certain that those planes are 100% parallel to plane 3.  Is that necessary? If so, how do I make plane 2 and 4 parallel to 3 by utilizing 3 as the master and averaging out the "non parallellness".  Secondly, what is the best way to extend it out?  I was able to do a Insert Face Move and make the tube extend to the planes in that way, but my sketches didn't update the line to show the new length of the tube.

What's the best way to do this?

Thanks in advance...file is attached.
