I converted my solidedge files into igs formart and then opened it for static analysis in solidworks but its asking import diagonostics. What should i do ?
Hello Mohamed,.. yes,"Parasolid is ideal" ... both SE and SW both use same parasolid kernel.. so, there is no translation.
When you get this, SW is wanting to know if you'd like to try and fix some of the import errors. If you answer no, you can still edit the import later and run the diagnostics.
Hi Steve Thanks,
Actually Im having a problem where Ihave to run an analysis of an explosion which occured in our machine. We went to site and found the Aluminium cover of the machine which was flat now looks like a mountain. We know that an interior part of the machine has hit that cover and made this protrusion on the cover which makes it look like this. I need to calculate the the force which created this protrusion. Trully speaking I need to find the force with which the interior part has hit the cover to cause this protrusion. What kind of simulation can help me find this force. can U help me through this ? . Thanks
Also if I attempt to heal all faces its running for a long time and failing. what should I do ?
Yes, absolutely you shold run the Import Diagnostics tool.It will determine whether the part has faulty faces or gaps, and assist eliminating them.
I'm thinking it might be best to post that secondary question (analysis/simulation) as a new thread as it veers away from the original question asked.
Sure Ill post the second query seperately. Regarding the import query what can be the best way to import solidedge models into solidworks?. I converted to iges format but when I see some forums its telling parasolid would be best way .
Great I tried and it worked without errors. Parasolid methhod works. Thank u
