Hello, I'm Adrian.
The issues I am having started with a 2015 version of Solidworks I had from a previous course, now we have been given an updated version (2016-2017) through North Metro Tafe. During the uninstall and installation process there were issues that meant files were left on my computer that cannot be removed due to aninability to "locate them". Even though I can see the files and they take up space, I cannot uninstall, delete or move them. (even using cleaning tools). Also the files are old and will not allow or work with the new version.
In an effort to fix them I installed a Virtual Machine with the sole purpose of running the new version and received this error.
Cheers,
Adrian.
The first screenshot is kind of hard to read. In the Windows\SolidWorks folder I have these folders:
I don't have an IM_20160-40200-1100-100 folder in there. The installation has never given me that error. If you have that folder, maybe try moving it to a different location or rename it to see if that helps.
For the second screenshot unless you really need to create wiring harnesses you should uncheck the boxes for SolidWorks Electrical. If you need it then you need to install SQL server before you install SolidWorks. You can use SQL Server Express with Electrical so you should be able to download it if it did not come in your installer files.
SolidWorks only supports specific virtual environments and it appears that not for standalone licenses. I was pretty sure I installed a standalone license on Parallels for an industrial designer that "needed" to use SolidWorks on a Mac.
