I have made a SW assembly from inserting separate SW parts . I am trying to send a single assembly file without including all the attached component files along with it - ie I wish to embed the component files in one single assembly . I cant seem to find any break external reference option for the parts and haven't come across anything on the forum that seems to make sense here
Open the file that's linked. then go the tree and right click on the file name and choose List External Ref. Now choose Break All. The will break all links to the file
Once they are broken, you can't unbreak them. I don't recommend using this option in most cases. If you are concerned about rebuild times (which I don't think is your case here), locking external references will keep them from rebuilding. I do this when I don't need the external references updating. It gives me the option later to unlock them if something has changed and I need it to update.
Can you just suppress the components you don't want to send and then do a pack n go?

you should select all components and then RMB click on a component in the design tree and use option Make virtual.
Now will be components saved internally in the assembly and you can send an assembly as a single file..
