Importing yields fillets/faces with many additional parting lines and incorrect/missing faces?

I have a file of a gearbox housing from a customer that was created using a 3D imaging process. I need to do structural analysis on this housing using Ansys, but the file has a few errors when importing directly into Ansys (NURB warning and others), and will not mesh.

The imaging company provided my customer with .stp files. Upon importing the file into Solidworks and going through the import diagnostics, I am left with fillets that are divided into many small sections, see image. I believe this is part of the reason for the error in Ansys. The model doesn't need to be 100% accurate, just needs to give a close macro stiffness at the bearing locations.

Does anyone have advice on how to fix this model so that it will mesh? I cannot post the file due to an NDA, but I can post images and check back with any results as I work through this.

Thanks for the help.
