We just upgraded to 2018 SP1 and when we start SolidWorks, we get this blue "I" box w/ "OK" and if you click "OK" it boots up fine. Anyone know what this box is for or how to stop it? Thanks.
Ok it stopped when I got the latest version of the toolbox files in our vault which we had SolidWorks pointing to our vault toolbox.
Do you have any add-ins checked in the Start Up column in Tools, Add-ins? If so, I would uncheck all of them and then shut down SOLIDWORKS and restart and see if it goes away. If it does go away, then check the Start up column for the first one you want starting up with SOLIDWORKS, exit SOLIDWORKS and start up again. Iterate through until you find which one is causing the problem (if indeed it is an add-in).
If an add-in is not the cause, you may want to try a repair on the installation.
it looks like a third party addin to me. Dose SW have something like this error (no text)

No, SOLIDWORKS does not purposely have any errors without text. Although this can happen when the OS is running low on resource handles. When that happens all sorts of weird things can happen like icons being wrong/missing, text being wrong/missing, etc. I've seen users complain about such messages in threads like "my favorite error/waning message" and it is never intentional...it is only if something is going wrong, and again, usually at the OS level relating to system resources.
Thank you for verifying this. I don't recall to see some like this error before - just wondering if the developer accidentally adds this mesg
So I've unselected every add-in and I'm still getting it, but we've upgraded about 15 pcs and they are all getting it. Should I still try a repair on each? Thanks for the help.

My only other guess is perhaps something having to do with network licensing since I see in your screenshot you may be using that and you say it is affecting all seats. It may be time to get your VAR involved to help troubleshoot.
yeah this problem arises sometimes when you have thirdparty software ive seen this before when i upgraded the HSMworks CAM.
(I miss this forum so sometimes i visit it, i thought i could have the SW 2018 SP1 before my subscription expired but the release is not December so i'm stuck at SP0.1)
Just for completeness, I am linking another reference to this same error:
