me and my friend are working on solidworks project about pruning shears with a long plastic pipe beneath it so it can collect the fruits. we want a help with choosing the right material so it wont be heavy,it can handle with the branches

Well it looks like the word has spread to all your classmates. We seen several of your classmates over the past several days here asking the same questions about what material to use. You might want to follow Matt's suggestion above. I am surprised Rick Becker has not made an offer to help you with your class project.
