I cannot add next sheet to my drawing . The first sheet has the border which I created myself
but the second sheet come out empty
I asked above if you were in Edit Sheet Format mode when you created the border, but you didn't answer. I can understand that it could have gotten lost in the replies, but it's an important question. If you weren't in Edit Sheet format mode when creating the border you should have been. Then you should have saved the sheet format, not the drawing template. Please see #2 at Frequently Asked Forum Questions. I believe it will be a big help to you. After reviewing that please reply back to let me know.
Is this a new problem?
Can you post some screenshots?
Have you recently changed your computer, shift your filing structure around, updated your SW?
Need a little more dialog to possible causes...
Easiest way for me to create a new sheet which also contains existing sheet format is to CTRL-click and drag a sheet from tree into the field. It prompts where you want it. Then rename it, replace model in its views, or delete all views and content and proceed with empty (but formatted) sheet.
Clicking on the + Tab creates a new clean sheet. You can apply a saved sheet format from its Properties dialog box, but this is not easiest. The sheet format also must be saved to a file to apply manually. This is unnecessary but helpful. Default sheet format can be already included within a drawing template.
1. Were you in "Edit sheet format" mode when you added your border?
2. If yes, did you save your sheet format afterward?
3. And if yes to that question, did you save it at the location you're pointing to at Tools > Options > System Options > File Locations > Sheet Formats?
When you add a new sheet (Selecting this tab):
Do you get this error:
If so select ok and then the menu will open to allow you to select your sheet template:
if you don't get that right click on the blank sheet and select Properties
That should allow you to select your sheet format.
Make sure your folder for sheet formats is set up properly:
Made my own border save it as New D.drwdot.
made a drawing.
Want to add sheet
went to property on sheet2, trying to browse for my template
There is nothing under location where I put my new D. drwdot
That actually work!!.
Im not sure if this is correct way but it's work
He said to put it under sheet format, not document templates. That is probably the reason why it doesn't work.
DRWDOT does not equal SLDDRT. Both must be saved, with format associated into the saved template.
Also, when you click Browse... to locate a sheet format, I find that it always starts in a local directory, from which I have to navigate to the shared network location instead. This is not immediately apparent, especially if you had just saved it in a different location. This process **does not** remember the last used location, but begins anew in local preloaded defaults.
The article #2 was very helpful . Off Corse I didn't save the format , I just save the template
Good morning .
I found another problem. My new border is working , my multi sheets set up working, thanks to you.
Just when I adding the pages the number of sheet # of ## doesn't changes. How to set it up properly?
Is your text SHEET 1 of 1?
This is the property for the current sheet:
$PRP:"Sheet"$PRP:"SW-Feuille actuelle(Current Sheet)"
This is the property for total sheet:
$PRP:"SW-Nbre total de feuilles(Total Sheets)"
Should look like SHEET $PRP:"Sheet"$PRP:"SW-Feuille actuelle(Current Sheet)" OF $PRP:"SW-Nbre total de feuilles(Total Sheets)"
$PRP:"SW-Current Sheet(Current Sheet)" OF $PRP:"SW-Total Sheets(Total Sheets)"
When I try to insert: $PRP:"SW-Current Sheet(Current Sheet)"
it automatically given me option 1
When linking Note text I never enter the text directly because I don't want to have to worry about getting it just right. Instead I use the "Link to Property" icon in the Note's Property Manager. So when you edit your title block note, double-click on the note, and highlight the first numeral. Go to the icon shown below and select "Current Sheet" from the drop-down and click Okay. Next highlight the second numeral and choose "Total Sheets" (the one just below "Current Sheet"). This should link the note so that it will update automatically.
Then don't forget to save the sheet format and drawing template again, in that order.
Thank you !!!
That's cheating!.. Just kidding.
