Hi,
So i am trying to simulate a chain and sprocket motion, the sprocket should have a constant speed & the chain should be engaged with the sprocket teeth & move in relation to the sprocket speed.
Using a gear mate i have mated the inner roller of the chain to the sprocket axis. When the mated chain link moves around the sprocket it is engaged, however when the sprocket leaves the sprocket at a tangent the speed of the chain changed in relation to the sprocket as the link is mated to the axis of the sprocket. The tensioning arm in the assembly is a stationary block which the chain runs over.
It is hard to explain, however this guy on youtube has exactly the same issue: SolidWorks, Chain Segment Motion with Sprockets in an Assembly with the Path Mate Part 2 - YouTube
My question is what other mate or tool can i use to achieve a real life chain /sprocket motion.
