Fellow Members,
In SW17 i have to create mould(s) for parts of carbon fiber chair.
The chair is divided in two components (seating and backrest)
I have to create two moulds for every part, so two in total.
i've uploaded some pics.
When i use the mold feature for this, i'am ending up with error message "cannot knit sheets together"
i'am aware of that there are some little spots with negative draft, but even after i made them positive, the same issue still appears
maybe somebody knows an alternitive way to create a mold for this.
Thanks!
Hi Joey,
The seat looks fine, apart from the holes, but I guess you will use removable pins.
On the back rest, it looks like the part has been designed in order to remove the mould from the bottom. I guess the top part is the "moulded side" you want, so if you can change the draft angle from negative to positive all around (it's not easy and it will change the shape of the part), if not, you need to split the mould in two parts (bottom and top) all around between the green surface and the red: the top part will be a simple flat-like surface, the bottom part will be the red edge.
I'm not sure to have been clear enough, because it's difficult to explain in words.
Hope it helps.
