Component Position

I am fairly new to Solidworks having used Pro/E for about 6 years. In Pro, when using mechanisms to control the movement of parts, it is possible to take a 'snapshot' of the assembly in certain positions, that you can then recall when needed, or use in a motion study.

Is there something similar in Solidworks? I have some parts assembled that are able to move relative to each other, but I want to be able to store certain positions of the components, e.g. a start and finish position. When I am in Simulation, and have a study, if I change the component positions, whether intentionally or accidentaly, I can't find a way to revert them back to the previous positions or to a saved position, which means I need to re-run the study.

I know that keyframes can be used when doing a motion analysis to position the components but I'm not sure that helps me do what I need to do, if that makes sense.

If you need more info, please let me know.

Thanks
