Motion analysis correct?

Question asked by Robin De Pauw on Dec 27, 2017

I tried a motion analysis in order to figure out what force is needed to push a beam, as shown in figure below. The weight of the beam is 13 kg and I assume steel (greasy) friction between the beam and the guiding (2 components above the beam). I receive a motor force of 1,2 N, is this correct or is this either low? The motor force should be a pneumatic cylinder, should I choose the smallest one then? (I added gravity and contacts)

Thanks in advance,
