Not the first time this has happened SW 2016. Deleted a failed insert bend command and am now unable to try again.
Is there a way to remove all traces of sheet metal features from a .sldprt? Deleting the features doesn't do ti.

Here is the re-created model. Deleted the sheet metal feature t1hat was directly below the rip.
Same issue as the original.

I didn't have much luck either, but a question: Why not model this in sheet metal from the start?
The most trouble I have w/SW sheet metal are client files like this, ones that are modeled like "regular" solids and then use a 98 yard Hail Mary sheet metal conversion at the buzzer.
Pardon the sarcasm, but when I start with a base flange and use sheet metal commands for a sheet metal part, this workflow keeps me from creating something that ticks off SW (in a sheet metal way).
Probably not much direct help for your post, but going forward, I believe you won't see as many quirks such as this.

EDIT: Also, on the back flange, the circled junction isn't possible. There's material overlap at the tear.
David... In the past I have had success by deleting a face and patching. Think I may have also removed the link to thickness global variable in the equation manager. Can't remember for sure if I was able to do that. I will tell you that this can be solved. Perhaps trying a convert to sheet metal also. Click on a face then cancel. Would be nice to have the file so I can refresh my memory.
I scrapped the model. I did try deleting faces to no avail. Also deleted the global thickness variable but it came back.
If I can re-create this I will upload.
Here is your file back David, with one slight change. I opened up one of your rips so when flattened the side flanges would not overlap. Note cut extrude7. I did notice that when I made this cut extrude the model would again accept "insert Bends: As a matter of fact if I cut extrude anywhere on the model. it would again accept the insert bends. If I put a hole in any surface it worked. Also if I deleted a face then did a boundary surface to patch it up, things worked.
