What is the easiest way to separate everything I have in a part in separate parts?
Have a Pic? Did you draw a part with items on the that would normally be separate? if that make since...:) If so, don't know of a command to do that.
I drew everything in a part but from that part i want to make different parts. (if that makes sense).
copy the feature of the part in the feature tree
then open a new partand paste
depending on how it was constructed and if it had connection to the origin it wil just copy over
if it does not
u need to select the sketch
if its allot of feature`s on one single piece
and u did sperate them by using not to merge them
then u should be able to use the solidbodies tap and export them
u should be able to do this using the "insert into new part..." thingy
Similar to this, if you want to do multiple bodies at once, right click the solid bodies folder and select 'Save Bodies'
I DONT HAVE A SAVE BODIES FOLDER
Looking at your image below, you have no solid bodies folder because you have created weldments. This renames the folder to
You can still right click > save bodies. But I'd like to ask why you need to separate them? SW will let you create drawings of the separate elements without breaking the bodies up. You can also use a cutlist in your drawings which works in a similar manner to a BOM so you can list all the parts.
PS, chill with the uppercase text, some people may interpret that as aggressive.
Expand Cut List
attach your (*.sldprt) file here and end all doubt.
It sounds like you have a multi-body Part you'd like to break into separate Parts. See the third option listed in #15 at Frequently Asked Forum Questions.
I NEED JUST TO MAKE ALL OF THIS IN DIFFERENT PARTS.
Dioscamaris,.. there are a few ways but the most direct or all-in-one is "Split Part"
What version are you using Paul? From my split dialog I do not get the opportunity to save bodies until I select a trim surface and some bodies to trim. However, the Save bodies dialog has a familiar icon, and is very similar to your split dialog.
The Save Bodies does have the extra trick of re-creating model as an assembly.
Bjorn,.. I'm showing/using 2014 here... so,.. I think I see your point (if you're using a newer version),.. that is, I believe the behavior of Split Part and Split Bodies changed slightly in 2015.
