How do I make make a Tip for voting. Going to their page and voting there brings up this error for me:
Voting doesn't open until January 6, 2018. See this post for more info: SOLIDWORKS World 2018 Idea Submissions: My Favorites So Far
Hi Dennis,
I'm trying to vote there from the SOLIDWORKS World 2018 Top Ten List Homepage. I can't do it and get the error above. Just wondering if anyone else got it. Or do you mean I can't make that vote until 6th January 2018?
Also how do I submit an idea?
It's not for me... I thought it would be that simple but I guess I'll have to contact someone in Charge.
Must be a Problem with the page for me as my main query was about the vote for "How should we allocate our 2018 R&D resources?" I assume we should be able to vote for that right now?
Thanks.
EDIT; just seen your screenshot says you have voted so it must be a Problem on my end.

That is exactly the reason. You must do that first vote before you can submit an idea.

Actually, if you look at his original post, the problem he is having is that he has filled out the survey and hits "Save Vote" and it gives an error, so he can't move forward. Hence why I asked him to try filling in the comment and then hitting Save Vote. If that does not work, then I can contact the person in charge of this and see if they know what might be going wrong.
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Mark,
I am not sure exactly what is going wrong. First, try entering in a comment before hitting the Save Vote button to see if it has to do with having no comment. Obvious if it does work, the message needs to be more clear/specific about why it failed. Either way, post back to let me know the results.
Thanks,
Jim
Hi Jim, thanks for the Reply.
Same error. I had tried making a comment before but it still isn't letting me vote. Could it be the exact percentages I've Chosen that are bringing up an error? Surely not.
EDIT: to be clear the percentages I Chose were 50% Reliability, 10% functionality and 40% Performance. It reverts to those numbers (12% and -12%) after I click save vote.
EDIT EDIT: just tried again with different values (deafault 33%,34%,33%) and the same error occured.

I don't really know, but hopefully Utpal Kumar can help, although I think he is out of the office. Maybe Richard Doyle can help if it is some sort of permissions issue.
Thanks,
Jim

Actually, one other thing to try Mark is to try a different browser if you have one. Like Chrome instead of IE or vice versa.
Thanks,
Jim
Hi Jim, thanks again.
Unfortunately I've only got Microsoft Edge on my work PC. And yes I have been pressing Save Vote. The error doesn't Pop up unless I do.

That may be the issue. According to our forum vendor, MS Edge is not (yet) a supported browser. If there's any way you can test it with another browser, please do.
Richard
Mark Dougall, you are almost there. Look at the red box that says Save Vote. Set the values as you wish then click on that. Be sure to add your supprting comments as to why you voted the way you did.

Dennis,
When he hits Save Vote, he gets an error (see at the very bottom of his first post). This is the very first problem he posted. It must be some sort of problem on the forum end, hence why I'm calling others in to help.
Thanks,
Jim

Mark, If you like, send me your tip and I will post it for you.
Either send it in a message or post it here.
