Hey guys, I am trying to use solidworks floxpress for a simple pipe. It solves the pipe but does not display the results. Has anyone else had this issue and if yes how did you solve it?
if you hit the right arrow (on the opposite side to the green tick) does this take you through to that next stage?
No, it doesnt, it stays on the same stage, with the screen the same as it is, on that snapshot.
And the play button?
it solves the simulation, then says complete as seen on the snapshot
This sort of behavior is known to happen on some specific machines, and it can happen for FloXpress as well as SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation.
Another symptom of the problem is that ngp.log file contains a warning such as this:
warning 12:26:20 [NGP_System.dll] connection with solver aborted with error: The specified host is unknown
The ngp.log file is a session log file that provides details for FloXpress and SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation similar to what the Journal file or Performance file does for SOLIDWORKS.
To view this ngp.log file:
According to R&D, this behavior indicates that the FloXpress solver process 'efdsolver.exe' was blocked. Please ask your IT department to add exceptions for 'efdsolver.exe' (located in the '...\FloXpress\bin' subfolder of your SOLIDWORKS installation) to any security software (firewall, anti-virus, etc.) that may be present in your environment.
Thanks for your reply, I will try to add the exceptions to the efdsolver myself and see how it goes
Even though when windows firewall popped up i told it to allow access i still had this problem. I had to go back into windows firewall to allow it for 'local' as for some reason it was only ticked for public. Reloaded SW and the animations worked!
Actually, I solved this.
The problem was because i had the file saved in the company server, but the solver only works if you have the file saved in the computer itself.
Thanks for all of your replies.
