Is there a way to save a Custom Legacy Hole as a favorite or in the Hole Wizard Library? Looking for a way to save a dowel hole with a chamfer at a specified depth to speed up modeling.
Any ideals, thanks for all the help in advance.
If you have specified the hole in hole wizard then you can save it using the screen shot buttons below:
if its just a hole with a counter sink (chamfer) at the top. may just be worth using counter sink hole.
If it is a hole that is not able to be created on hole wizard it may be work looking at creating it as a library feature
Hope that helps
I wanted to know if you could favorite a Legacy hole, I don't think you can since that drop down you show disappears when Legacy Hole is selected. So I guess the only way is to make a library feature.
Why does it need to be a legacy hole?
So I can specify the depth for different options and have a flat bottom (the hole is cut with an end mill, and thus, should have a flat bottom.)
You should be able to do this with standard holes
If all you need is a flat bottom CSK hole then you can specify 180° in the "Angle at Bottom" under Custom Sizing.
You could also use the Advanced Hole option (not sure if it's available in all versions of SolidWorks) where you can specify different sections & there is also an option for flat bottom or point.
