I am trying to find the force needed to push one lego block into the other. I ran a nonlinear stress analysis , with an advanced fixture on the top face of the first block and no penetration contact sets between the pins of one block and the cavities of the other. But my results are showing a small force in the direction of the fixture (vertically downwards) and a much larger force in its perpendicular direction. I want to know the vertically downward force needed to push the blocks together, are my results correct? WHy would theforce be small?
