amd radeon hd 7900 series, how can I make it work with solidworks?
That is a vague question; I have users that run SW using built-in graphics on mother board (not well granted). What problem are you having?
Sadly, I didn't know SW was so picky about graphic cards, software was a recommendation to us. We purchased a thousands of dollar Software and we simply can't use it to make a virtual model and build a web site.
We're in Mexico and it's not that easy to change Graphics Cards "On Demand" to try and please Software companies. Yes, it is a fine Software, but there should be a way to use OUR equipment in the mean time we make enough money to jump among Graphic Cards.
Hopefully there is a workaround for me to use
I understand your frustration. However I still do not understand what issue you are having.
Have you tried running in OpenGL? See #13 at Frequently Asked Forum Questions.
Yep, still nothing
Don't blame the software for your lack of due diligence. You spent thousands on engineering computer software without confirming you had the hardware to run it? System requirements are quite publicly posted on the website. That's like buying a pool table without realizing that you live in a studio apartment.
That said, an approved graphics card can be had for less than $100USD, at least in the US. I just bought one for $50 for my home computer. It's an older model, but it works fine.
While I share your wish that Solidworks would work correctly with cheaper graphics cards, it doesn't, so the best thing you can do is accept it. You could try using the card you have, but sometimes strange things happen to the user interface (usually missing buttons or other features). If it becomes a problem, shop around a little and you'll find that you can buy a workstation (SW approved) graphics card for a couple hundred bucks, which is petty cash compared to what you spent on the software.
Sadly, I didn't know SW was so picky about graphic cards
Actually, SW is more CPU than GPU. You can run SW with a decent low-end video card while Good video card is a "Must" for Autodesk Inventor
I appreciate your concern and reply on this, but my problem, our problem down here is that, there's no way to activate Real View or even purchase more products from SW, as Visualize. I mean, I need to make a video, based in a Real View or Visualization to put it in a Web site, but I won't be able to do it with my equipment until I get an approved GPU. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, or I lack of expertise, if know what I mean
Thank you for your kind comment on this. Will try to keep u posted. Have a great week!
First at all, you need NVIDIA card to run SW Visualize
Secondly, can you tell us exactly what you expect to see or want from your current card? if I understand you correctly, you want to turn on "real view graphics" with the card you have?
Yep, I've been unsuccessful to turn on Real View. If I can do it, I may have the chance to make a "virtual video" and use it in a web site
Real View does not work with the unapproved graphics cards - you need something in the Nvidia Quadro or AMD Firepro series of cards.
I was on my phone before, now I am at my computer. I do not see that card listed on the SW website. Generally, cards not certified by SW will have issues. I have a NVIDIA GetForce card on my home computer and I get black screens, screens that do not update and other glitches but since I do not use it for production work I live with it.
SolidWorks approved graphics cards.
