can we revolve open sketch & construction lines? like in UG(NX)
Open sketch as thin feature. Construction lines no.
No open line/contour as solid which not touching center line.
Sorry, I do not understand the question
To some degree yes but I do not know how complicated you can get. Not considered good practice where I work so I do not use it.
I don't want thin feature , it must be solid.
You can in SW, I imagine #2 has ZTG which is why failed
revolve surface followed by thicken works in this case
For single sketch or less sketch entities it will work, but see the image of complexity. It is copied from autocad.
Yep I think you're asking a bit much there, I would try and see which contours you can select
also is this a problem?
Working with contour aslo not works or will take too much time, but in UG there is selection manager tool by which works faster, do we have such option????

Yes, there is a Selection Manager in SolidWorks.
Did you try the contour select? you can select contours or regions and it will give you insight into the problems with the sketch, by seeing what gets highlighted.
I'm guessing your best bet is to use this imported sketch as the basis of new simpler sketches that you use to create your features.
In a new sketch Right click and choose Select Chain, then convert entities. Just a suggestion?
Attach your *.sldprt file here and end all doubt.
Do you dimension your sketches in NX?
Plz just make this sketch & try, beacuse UG having this option.
Let say one of the line or many line not touchin center line so in SolidWorks either it is revolve as thin or show error, but in UG it will revovle without modificatiin.

In 15 yrs of using SolidWorks I have never made a sketch that "ugly" complex and without dimensions.
Is that usual practice in NX?
When I have to start from AutoCAD reference - I generally start from scratch unless it was I who created the AutoCAD geometry (and usually even if it was I who created the AutoCAD geometry).
Yes it is complex, without dimension beacuse dimension already given in autoacd.
Do you trust the AutoCAD geometry?
Can you attach your *.dwg or *.sldprt file here?
