The bottom edge of the offset surface and the original surface seem to be bumpy?
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Try manipulating your end constraint of "Surface-Loft5".
You're set to none.
I set it to Normal to Profile, which blew some things up, but the bottom remained level after a surface offset.
..it seems ok viewing the surface curvature? (image attached)
Ah sorry, yes, but I mean the actual bottom edges that are not straight!
Edward,.. it's offsetting "normal to".. so, it's normal or correct.. (you can also observed this doing a Ruled Surface, Normal to Surface on the parent surface bottom edge)
so, to make it parallel, you'd need to Trim that edge using the Top Plane.
I was unable to get the surface to offset with a straight edge either. I did a simple trim surface to the top plane and got it straight.
I tried several different ways. One was to thicken the surface 5mm instead of offsetting the surface and got the same result. Then took it one step further and tried to mirror the thicken on plane 2 and it wouldn't merge the solids without throwing up a "Failed to merge the newly generated body with the work piece." This means there are a few more issues with the model as it is.
Thanks, I've done the top plane trim. Any idea on what these 'further issues' might be haha? I know the curvature pinches slightly shown by the blue areas but don't think this is an issue??
Thanks, I'll give it a go.
