I'm trying to flex a linear structure into a ring and I'm having issues with the flex feature. I get a body with surface gaps (see picture).
Anyone have a better way to do this? Couple things I've tried:
Converting all features to a single body and performing flex (same result)
Exporting as a .STL, re-importing it, and performing flex (very very slow, but gave promising results on a simpler version that was giving me the same issue)
Exporting as a .IGS, re-importing it, and performing flex (the preview is exactly what I want, but the end result is the same as above). If only I could save previews...
Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks for the input Paul, unfortunately even small bends cause errors.
After much trial and error, I did manage to resolve this.
I broke out features in my part to separate parts and applied the flex individually to each. This greatly simplified the geometry with each flex, and did not cause large errors.
I then imported and aligned all my parts into an assembly, and merged all bodies to get my part.
