I have downloaded a large number of tube fittings, which are all in STEP AP214 format. Is there any feature where I can convert all STEP files in one go? Converting them one by one will take a 2-3 days. Any advice?
The SW Task Scheduler works fine. So I guess I will go with that. Thanks once again!
You could try downloading & using #TASK using the Import3D function as shown below. You can pick a folder of .step files, choose your settings & leave it going for however long it takes.
Thanks. I tried to do as advised, but none of the file got converted. I manually keyed the file format .stp in the Items Scope box, used the Import3D function. But all the files failed to convert to SW 2016 part files.
Not sure why it's not working as #TASK is usually very reliable on most tasks. I have tried it on a .stl file & a folder with several .stl files & it failed, saying no files found.
Kevin/Lakhvinder, looks like a bug or internal setting issue to me. The filters are only for Part, Assy and Drawing and hence it is saying that no files found.
My be Artem or Viktor can fix this and reload to there server.
Thank you for advising #TASK.
Looks like if the filer required extension was not specified. Could you please try to clear the filter (to process any file) or specify "STL" extension in filter?

This doesn't work.
specify "STL" extension in filter?
Typing/specifying the extension in that box worked.
Could you contact the support via email: email@example.com or "send feedback" button. Please attach a few screenshots of your #TASK window. #TASK team will try to help to you.
Viktor, typing/specifying the extension in that box worked but yes it should also work when filters are off.
adding the extension in that box worked great for a step file & it was converted no problem. It certainly isn't clear that is what you need/should do.
The files get converted easily with SolidWorks, but only one by one.
Hi Lakhvinder Singh
Did you try the import using SolidWorks Task Scheduler?
Ulf, no I have not tried it yet.
Kevin, no success with the #TASK.
I've tried it, and SolidWorks Task Scheduler works without any problems with iges, step, dxf and dwg files. Select the files or the directory, that's all.
I made a macro. It goes through a folder's files and opens them if they have .STP or .STEP file format and saves them in same folder. As of now only parts and which size are lower than 5mb parts are suggested to be used. It isn't very complex at all but I did it so it would be shame not to share for me
