Utilizing Multibody parts

I'm in the habit of creating certain parts as a single multi-body part rather than using assemblies. It ends up making things a lot easier. But I have a few concerns with this method.


1 - What is the best way to split the bodies into their own components for use in assemblies? For example, I need to add hardware to my part and an exploded view.


2 - What is the best way to detail each part in a drawing? I like the method of being able to just select bodies of a multibody part, but it makes automating part numbers a little more difficult than having each body as it's own part.
