Re: Material in Assembly
Bjorn Hulman Nov 17, 2017 5:32 AM (in response to Mário Neto)The way I would show material in an assembly is to include a BOM with a material column. In a lot of cases an assembly consists of many materials, therefore giving it a single material property does not work very well.
In your scenario, you could add a 'Material' custom property to the assembly. You might look into the Custom Properties Tab for doing this consistently.

Re: Material in Assembly
Bjorn Hulman Nov 17, 2017 5:57 AM (in response to Mário Neto)Exactly. I have multiple BOM templates depending on what the drawing is for and the information I want to show. Some very simple. Some with as much info as possible so I can export and copy into our QMS controlled BOM template. I dislike typing things more than I have to.

Re: Material in Assembly
Jason Young Nov 17, 2017 6:15 AM (in response to Mário Neto)why not assign the material at the part level??
this can then be shown in the customized BOM??

Re: Material in Assembly
Mário Neto Nov 17, 2017 6:29 AM (in response to Jason Young)Yes, that is what i am going to do, actually what Bjorn said happens a lot, i do have plenty of assemblies with multiple parts with different materials each. Using the custom BOM with material sure does what i want
