I am trying to make a static simulation for the following assembly. The tow suspension bars and the three plates are modeled as shells. The rest of the assembly is solid bodies. The middle plate (MP) has contact with the suspension bars (SP). So, there is shell-shell elements contact in the interfacing region.
The shell definition for both MP and SP bar are shown here.
The global contact is bounded but I set the contact between shell- shell elements and between shell - solid elements as 'No penetration'. The results plot shows that the MP penetrates the SP Although I set the contact to 'No penetration '.
