Hi Everyone,
Long time SolidWorks user here, and very familiar with cosmetic threads. I'm currently using SolidWorks Standard 2017 SP 4.1, and am having an issue inserting cosmetic threads that began when moving from 2016 to 2017.
Previously, I would insert cosmetic threads on parts by going to Insert > Annotations > Cosmetic Thread. After updating however, this is not available. There is no longer an annotations selection under the insert drop down. I've searched relentlessly for a possibly new location, but everything I've found points me to the same Insert > Annotations > Cosmetic Thread menu that is no longer there. My colleagues are on the same license network and service packs and they have this option right where it is supposed to be. This has been a problem across all 2017 service packs that I have used (I believe we skipped SP 1).
I'm able to open parts with cosmetic threads, and even edit the cosmetic thread feature. Just not able to create from scratch. I added the annotations toolbar to my view, hoping that maybe the option would become available through the toolbar but to no avail. I've attached a screenshot of my Insert drop down.
Possibly unrelated, but I had this same issue with inserting rows and columns into tables. I would go into the right click context menu on a drawing table, then Insert, but Insert Row was missing. The same order of operations on a colleague's PC would insert the row as expected. This issues magically resolved itself a few months ago however.
Please help, this has been driving me crazy. It should be such a simple task, and it seems to work for everyone on the planet but me!
