I uninstalled SolidWorks 2016 and installed 2017. When I try to run it, it stays on the splash screen and says "loading registry." Also the task continues to run as a background process after I close it. If I try to end the task, it doesn't do anything. It does not let me uninstall it. When I go the uninstall manager and click the button to uninstall it, it does nothing.

I have tried:

Restarting my computer

Uninstalling and re-installing it. (By manually deleting it)
