3D DXF for weldment path...?

I am having considerable trouble creating a 3D sketch from an imported 3D DXF.

 

The DXF is a 'stick' representation of framing, and all of the entities came in as ImportedCurves.

 

But I can't seem to add them to a 3D sketch.

 

What am I missing?
