Hi Maha,
Just a thought, are you running Solidworks with FULL Administrator rights?
Also just curious why you placed it into C:/Users/Maha/Documents instead of just C:/My Computer/Documents? This is why I asked about Admin rights if you are asking SW to access files in a specific 'user' folder. ***'My Computer' *** maybe named something else on your machine.
Also, when you apply the changes, it just may pay to confirm that the profiles ARE actually where you say they are and then perhaps restart SW just to see if it helps the changes take effect?
Dave.
Okay, firstly, where you have the folder you created called "Custom Weldment Profiles", now create another folder INSIDE folder called "Maha Weldment Profiles".
Next, select all of the profiles in "Custom Weldment Profiles" and drag and drop them into your new sub-folder called "Maha Weldment Profiles"
Now these should show up in your library hopefully................ let me know.
Dave.
I made a mistake in my initial post, I use configured profiles. I have edited the comment below.
It would need to be Custom Weldment Profiles\Custom\Square\***.sldlfp --> Custom would be the first SW selection, Square the second, size would be the sldlfp.
if they are configured they could be Custom Weldment Profiles\Custom\'Configured profile name'.sldlfp
Okay, secondly Maha, follow this link to set your Solidworks up so that you run it with full Administrator privileges.

I personally run my whole PC as the Administrator but that is something you need to decide for yourself if you want to check the settings on. Google will be your best friend for this depending on which operating system you are using..............
Dave.
Yeah, it seems you'd never have a sldlfp file that isn't a weldment file, right? So, to me, it seems it shouldn't be necessary to make sldlfp files library features. One way to make sure you are good is to make a copy of a weldment sldlfp and edit the sketch to make it what you want. Then you save it and you are good...No worries about adding it to the library. Another thing to do is make your weldment profile configured and use a design table to drive it. I have attached one I created, if you want to take a look at it.
If I had to guess, SWX probably considers those files to be "behind the scenes" for most users. Kind of like most people don't go tinkering with Toolbox parts. So, from their perspective, why bother with making that association.
I find it to be a minor inconvenience. But, if it bothers you, simply make the windows association, yourself:
Hello Maha,
Not going to read 40 messages, but this usually happens when you dont select your sketch and then save it as a library feature.
