The RED trigger with BLUE plate moving in the slot of GREEN plate. The RED trigger then continuously moves and drives the GREEN plate rotates until meeting the wall.
I know it can be simulated by physical dynamics but can I use Mates instead?
Hi, there are likely a few different ways you can do this. One suggestion is to create these two mates:
1) Create a Width mate between the green and grey component, use the Free constraint option. This is actually the same approach that was discussed recently in Alin Vargatu's 11th Power-User Challenge here.
2) Create a Limit angle mate between the Right plane of the blue component and the Right plane of the green component, which is centered on the slot. Set the upper limit to 5deg, lower to -5deg. Remember to use the Reference entity field to prevent mate flipping.
I would use a Slot Mate instead of that angle mate.

Thanks Bill, a slot mate also works (and is a more logical choice) but I saw smoother results with the dynamic drag when using the limit mate.
