So Importing a step file what would make it come out blank besides the step file being blank, I can open the step file in other systems and see the data however it comes out blank every time I try to open in it. I am sure its just a setting, I would appreciate any help. There is the file
I opened it in NX and its fine. and I opened in Auto Cad Mach,
All surfaces here as well and a lot of voids... Can you ask for a Parasolid x_t file??
did you check your system settings for importing parts.
seems like they got system settings that need to be set right to turn the computer on....
Opening it in e-drawings shows it is more or less a ZTG profile.
I encounter these surface only models once in awhile. Solidworks cannot import it into a solid of any kind. I tried all of the usual settings changes I try when I get one of these in and nothing would bring it in. The best you can do is import sketch points which will give you a couple of 3d sketches which is nowhere near the apparent detail in this part.
That is fine, so how do I get it to open in solidworks?
This is what I get when I open that file in Auto Cad Mach. 2004 It is there and works.
Thanks you guys I got it, so I take it you have to un check the box surface/solid entities at the top of the important options.

It came in as an assembly, but you should be able to extract the surfaces from it if you need to.
There are no features or bodies. Did you get a clean download?
