I made a boundary surface, but there's no way to indicate how thick the helmet is. I know surfaces aren't meant to have thickness, but is there a way to do this with thickness?
Here is the feature
insert -> feature -> thicken
I don't see thicken
2017 SOLIDWORKS Help - Thicken
You can make a solid using Boundary Boss, there is also a Boundary Cut feature, but I think you are wanting the Thicken Feature which takes a surface and does what it sounds like
You're already aware surface has no thickness why you ask the surface thickness again?
and I'm assumed you're aware of "thicken" feature also?
I didn't know about the thicken feature.
That's what mine looks like
Edit: found it
It says "unable to thicken surface" or "face which failed check"
Its much easy to close the surfaces and use the "shell" feature
1) use surface-fill to close the open surfaces
2) use knit feat to make it a solid
3) use shell to add wall thickness
