Are these benchmark readings good, bad or indifferent for SW2017 SP4.1?
I know this is old, but my experience with the benchmark tool is that there is no correlation to anything in particular. SolidWorks does not have a comparison benchmark to compare your results to a known system, and it seems that somehow people are able to get their benchmark to be unreasonably good.
Then, with no validation of what "Graphics" means there is no way to analytically determine if 33.5 seconds is good or not. What is an acceptable high or low for that number? What exactly is "Graphics" measuring for 33.5 seconds? The benchmark tests take way longer than 34 seconds, so it is impossible to tell what is being timed.
The benchmark test doesn't force you to close all other applications and just let it run without touching the system. So, the results are effected by any background processes and things that are setup by IT on the system. Then, does anti-virus on-access scan play into the time it takes to get the results.
When it comes down to it, the results can only really be compared to other systems within your organization so that you can compare systems setup similarly. Then you can tell if one user is really slow and you can look into their system.
