Bearing versus pin connectors

Question asked by Aaron Hayden on Oct 18, 2017

When including a shaft and housing in a static study what differences in the behavior exist (if any) of a bearing connector versus a pin connector? I know that bearing connectors have the alignment option that pin connectors do not. I'm curious about the differences in how the elements are created and calculated for the two types. The thought rolling around the back of my mind is that with bearing alignment turned off they behave and transmit loads similarly, but I'm wondering what those of you with more knowledge of the inter workings of Simulation have to say about it.
