I receive this error message, then forced to close solidworks. any ideas on how to fix?
That question is really open ended and a lot of things could have caused it.... Do you have the part or assembly that you could upload, or pictures and what you were trying to do..... etc
sorry John, but the message pops up at different locations in my assembly, not a single part problem. I could be selecting a surface to edit a part, mating files, rotating my model. it's not isolated to a specific command or file.
It shouldn't happen often and when it does there is normally a real reason. We also have no idea what your training consisted of or how long you used SW, we don't know your workflow and the product.. So we do try to answer questions, but with your issue it's a lot vague...
I will do my best to describe my situation. my system is about a month old 2017 sp4.1 on window 10, I'm on a network. it had been working fine until Monday (6 crashes) Tuesday (10 crashes). I don't know if there were any network changes that may be causing solidworks to crash. if there was, I don't where to begin with my IT group. they started by updating my graphic card driver, and that has not fix the problem.
if it happened randomly, it's hard to detect
you can run the Rx and send the report to your VAR for more investigation - it'd save you lot of time and headache !
