Is there a way in Solidworks Simulation 2014 (or any other version) to manually create mesh elements for the FEA static analysis? The automatic mesher in SW is very good indeed, but sometimes it doesn't do quite what I wanted, even after applying and playing with mesh controls. This results in great problems which sometimes become unsolvable or really really hard to get around from.
In most FEA software you can do this, but maybe SW Simulation is not supposed to be seen as a fully-featured FEM software? Or am I missing something? I have been looking for this for months already.
You can use intersecting split lines and the split feature on your geometry to achieve an exact placement and alignment of nodes in areas of interest. This, combined with mesh controls can give you a lot of influence over your mesh.
