We manufacture large industrial conveyors.  One of our larger models has 163 unique assemblies, 611 total assemblies, 765 unique parts, 25,255 total.  Some of these can take up to 30 minutes to open.  It is slow to maneuver around in once all the views details and notes are put on the drawing.  The larger drawings we are unable to save a dwg file.  We are currently running Xi workstations with the following specs:

  • Intel® Core™ i7-7700K @ 4.3GHz Overclocked
  • 16GB DDR4 @ 2800MHz
  • NVIDIA® Quadro® P2000 5GB GDDR5
  • 500GB Solid State Drive Samsung® 850 EVO™ SATA 6Gb/s

Some are older and have lesser specs.  We are looking at upgrading some and going with the i7-8700K, 32GB of 3000MHz RAM and M.2 SSDs.

Anything else we should be looking at to increase our capabilities with these large models?
