Hi
I am trying to use simulation study to figure if the structure (seating) can be used for the purpose meant for, the material being carbon fiber and steel for the legs. I created a custom (carbon fiber) one with values I kinda copied from the steel info, hence most probably incorrect, as the ones in SW are not complete, and won't let me use it.
I am having problems in completing the simulation, and would like to know if the design is feasible, meaning the structure won't collapse, more concerned with the carbon fiber part, than the legs, how much in mm would the tubular flex?
Thank you
1. Use real mechanical properties. You can find it here:
Properties of Carbon Fiber or here:
Mechanical Properties of CarbonFibre Composite Materials or

2. To figure out the actual load-bearing capacity of a structure use FOS (factor of safety) - see
