I would like to how many people think solidworks customer service sucks??
Whoy does it suck?
No. I do not contact Solidworks Customer Service. I contact my VAR. My VAR rocks. Maybe yours doesn't. Apples, oranges.
Really?? Customer service or the lack of answers to those questions that there are no answers too....
Clarification....please..... SolidWorks as is DDS.....SolidWorks as in your VAR(Value added Reseller)?
Are you talking the USA office or the Office in England?
I got horror stories about support that all I have to say is that support has improved 1000% from those days from just about every VAR that I have gotten to work with.
yes it does!3
If you mean Dassault Solidworks, I can't give any personal experience that I have had other than through these forums. And I respectfully disagree with that sentiment if it is directed at the SWX employees posting on these forums.
If you mean the customer service that you receive through your VAR, I don't know who they are. But, in my case, I really like the service I have received through my VAR, MLC Cad Systems. The people I have dealt with through the VAR have always worked hard to solve any problems I have brought to them.
So, please elaborate on what you mean.
I'm Talking about both. i have spent most of my day trying to find the answers to my problem and nothing the re seller has no answers.
Is English your primary language?
what does that have to do with anything.
Just curious. Based on grammar and spelling I see here sometimes there are issues with support.
What exactly is the problem you are experiencing?
Sometimes the VAR can be in direct contact with SWX trying to solve a problem. When that happens, it can take some time, usually a day or two. And if there isn't a solution, they can create an ER that will get reviewed and if necessary, turned into an SPR.
If you've got a bad VAR, I'm sorry to hear that. You are paying an awful lot of money for maintenance.
solidworks customer service sucks??
Did you try to call customer service and have bad experiences with them?
if so, why you made this statement? Please detail
As others mentioned, I only contacted my VAR, not SW customer service and don't have that kind of experience !
Our VAR is HawkRidge and their support is excellent !!!
And, generally, brief posts as if you're too impatient to communicate effectively. Maybe you're just young, raised in a generation untaught in the ways of critical thinking and communication outside of your in-group, in favor of silly participation awards and echo chamber wisdom. Maybe you're defensive and curt and think that we are the problem, when we are actually independent users trying to help. In short, maybe your expectations have failed you. I am not, nor will I, help you. Elucidate. Elaborate. Communicate. Clarify. Use your words.

well i have a different opinion of them sorry.
OK then ... Unless you spell it out, please don't bad-mouth customer service
well when you call or email customer service you have some exception of resolution right. well i have been trying to get these answers for more then a day now so the frustration is high. sorry if you don't understand that then you never have bad service which i would say good on you.
What are these questions you are trying to answer?
in the equation manager i cannot add or edit anything in it. i can input info on my laptop but when i open it up on my desk top i can edit or add the info. they have told me to run the repair from the disc and that did nothing.
Can you upload part so someone else can see if the equations work?
Chris, this could be related to lot of things. So please share details about your SW version and SP, OS, MS office version, . .NET Framework version. Details need for both laptop and desktop.
Also add picture (video preferred) showing what happens when you work with equations on your desktop.

All of our issues were user self inflicted issues, not SW issues and not VAR issues, just something bone headed that I did... Impatience surely isn't your virtue, maybe...?

Who is your VAR?
My VAR is MLC-CAD and they rock but sometimes they have their AEs out of office and other AEs in the other locations are busy with classes. Sometimes they can't get back to me that day but I always get an answer.
What was your complaint again?
Look, I understand that you are frustrated......however, people are people. Sometimes people have bad days. You said that you have been waiting a day. In the grand scheme of things that is NOT a very long time to wait. Honestly, I think that the customer service from the VAR's rocks when you compare it to things like Cell phone companies and insurance companies.
The other thing that you have to understand is that they probably get a hundred calls a day from people who claim that their Solidworks is broken because they can't see the sketch when they simply hid it. They have to take all those calls seriously, too.
If you were at a restaurant, would you say that everything there sucks BEFORE you got your food? That would get you what I call, "Spit in your food syndrome."
Be aware that the VAR's troll these threads. Like I said....people are people.
So, here's my advice:
Delete this thread entirely. Its a bit disrespectful. Especially the beginning.
Then come back and ask your real question. And please...be respectful.
Well said Tom,
I couldn't have put it better myself. Mind you, considering the mood I'm in at the moment, if I had tried it would have included a lot of expletives....
