On one of our CAD stations the View Palette doesn't open when starting a new drawing with "Make Drawing from Part". In stead a view is pre-selected and can be placed on the drawing. How do you change this behaviour?
What we get:
i could possibly be two things:
1. if you go to tools>>options>> system options>> drawings and ensure the below is ticked.
2. open a blank drawing go to the view layout tab and click model view:
then make sure " start command when creating new drawing is unticked.
cancel and close the drawing and retest the behaviour.
Let me know if that helps
Just checked, unfortunately both settings were already set at the correct value.
Thanks for trying,
The "what we want" is what you get from the "View palette" tab accessed from the right side of your drawing format.
The "what we get" is the "view orientation" accessed by hitting the spacebar and selecting the "pin" - upper right of tab depending on whether you want it to stay on or not.
Not quite. The "what we get" opens automatically on this one machine. You get the same result if you press "model view"
Then press the next arrow
This only happens on one PC, all others open the View Palette on creation of a new drawing from a part.
Hi. I had the same problem. This is the solution that I found.
You need to right-click on the menu bar (by File, Edit, etc.). Look for "task pane" and check it to activate it. The view palette did show up then on the top right side of my screen.
This should be done before doing the File ---> Make Drawing from Part .....OR..... the view palette will not populate the views properly. I had to close the screen and start again (making sure that the configuration that I wanted was the currently active configuration).
