When you attach an assembly, you need to include all the files that go into the assembly...not just the assembly file.
I cannot tell for certain just looking at your pictures, but I strongly suspect that you did indeed make the mold wrong.
The mold should look something more along the lines of this...
The cavity block is on the left, the core block is on the right, the molded part is in the middle.
These are all the parts for the assembly. It looks like I did something wrong on the mold. Maybe I shelled it wrong.
Edit: somehow it must work the way I had it. You can see that it works in the boss mold file

When you made the "Parting Line1" feature, you had the arrow pointing the wrong way.
Here is how you had it...
Here is how it should have been...
The arrow should always be pointing toward the "cavity-side".
Flip the arrow in the "Parting Line1" feature and the cavity/core will be correct.
