What is wrong with Plane1? you should be easily able to create holes off it. If you mean holes in the shaft, you can create a plane perp to plane 1 and tangent to the shaft. I see no problems here either.
I created an offset to a perp plane for holes in the shaft, it was giving an error, but finally stopped.
Yes, SW seems to sometimes be like that. Do the same things the same way and get different results because you were holding your tongue different.
Sorry if I was short, this was the third request I had looked at with no clue what the author was asking for.
I just created several. Not sure which one you want though.
I think I am going to have to create a block I can automatically insert instructing kids how to provide information in the questions asked as well as in the message title.
SOMETIMES IF A LITTLE INFORMATION IS SUPPLIED ANSWERS CAN ACTUALLY ANSWER THE QUESTION AND BE HELPFUL NOT SNARKY
be sure to read the info and knowing what is needed...sometimes you just got to play with it till you figure it out....
I would say check the help file but that can be fun trying to find what you looking for.
I apologize, this has always been an easy feature and I need a sketch here to create holes. in the cylinder, however its giving me an error this time. I played with it many times and couldn't get a plane.

Go through the tutorials. Start with the first one and pay attention...And it is important to fully define your sketches.
And please don't try to argue it is not necessary or required. You would get a failing grade based on the image above in any respectable trade school.
Unfortunately you are starting off either without good instruction, or you are trying to jump ahead to quickly. Learn the basics first. Then move on.
are you not allowed to use the hole wizard? pick the type of hole and then pick where you want it...put the point on the surface of the shaft and then dim as needed...no need for a plane.....

I was looking in version #1 for that. I knew you had it somewhere.

That brings up a question. I have your FAQs bookmarked, how do I open my bookmarks for quick and easy access? I have never found where to open my bookmarks.
