I want to rotate and translate a copy of my part with direct editing, but I get this error message when I try to ?
"You may not create additional bodies from a body in a flattened state"
Why should this be restricted ?
Try these steps..progress down the list if you fail to flatten the part
Suppress the chamfer on your slots first.
RMC the flat pattern feature and make sure a face is specified under fixed face
Select recreate flat pattern
Select the chamfer faces to permanently exclude them from the flat pattern (optional to first point)
See if you can flatten the part before the move copy command. If yes, then add a fold & unfold feature.
You should be able to configure the fold (suppress it to show it in the flatten state)
That are some points
This is create behavior. If you want to rotate/move/copy body, then do it in folded condition and you would automatically get the flattened body for that.
I can't flatten it afterwards.
I can both rotate, move and copy the body in the folded state, that is no problem.
But I can't flatten it afterwards ?
The other part disappears.
Of course, unfold worked :-)
Thank you for the input.
My guess it has something to do with the highlighted features
You would be able to see only one flatten body at a time.
