Hello! I want to know if anyone has tips on how to go from Solidworks to Esprit (CAD CAM) super fast. When I am designing a block, I will have wire start holes, which will cut out a contour. When I'm in Solidworks, i just draw the contour, no the start hole. How can I easily show the start hole position and size, as well as the contour in the same model. I want to be able to see both in Esprit.

Do surfaces come through in Esprit? If they do, then you might be able to get away with adding a cylindrical surface to represent the wire hole.
If that doesn't work, then maybe configurations? Have a configuration with just the wire hole, and then another configuration with the cut out. Then just reference both for your program.
Extrude a surface to represent the start hole (cylindrical surface). I do this all the time when I need to show wire start holes.

What i use is configurations , just like Dan said. If you extrude a surface to simulate a start hole alot of the software's out there that run Haas milling machines and others will get confused in the programming when it sees those surfaces used to simulate start holes, if your doing a direct import to the software using your model file. Like Dan said , create a config just showing your start holes. When you go to make a shop print drawing in solidworks , if you do so , you can bring in your view from your cavity config then overlay your config of just the start holes directly on top of it. When running your hole table you will be able to pick up both configs with a option at the bottom (cant remember it exactly right now) then combine your tables and your done. A fully dimensioned print with a complete hole table.
We use Edgecam here and it accepts both configs for the programmer , problem solved.
Try and see if a center mark shows up.
